Purpose

To set RAID 0 on Intel Kaby Lake platform, example board is EAX-C236KP. There are two operating parts to set a RAID 0 for EXA-C236KP.
Step 1: Enabled Intel Rapid Storage Technology on BIOS Setup.
Step 2: Start to set RAID 0.

Environment:

Model: EAX-C236KP-B1R (Current Latest BIOS Revision: AKBX-00D.bin)
BIOS Boot mode settings: UEFI Boot (Default)
Storage: Innodisk 3TE7 128GB SATA storage *2
Operating System: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC 64bit English

  • Note: Use same brand / model and size of your storage device to create a RAID volume is strongly recommended.
  • Refer to S17020

Step 1: Enabled Intel Rapid Storage Technology on BIOS Setup


  • 1. Attach SATA storage devices to SATA port of the board.
  • 2. Press DEL / F2 at POST to enter BIOS, switch to "Chipset" tab and open "PCH-IO Configuration".
  • 3. Open "SATA And RST Configuration".
  • 4. Choose "SATA Mode Selection", then change to "RAID".
  • 5. Switch to "Save & Exit" tab, save changed setting and reset.

Step 2: Start to set RAID 0

  • 6. Enter BIOS again, "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" menu will enabled from "Advanced" tab.
  • 7. Enter "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" menu and select "Create RAID Volume" to change RAID setting.
  • Note: RAID management function will disable while only single SATA storage device attached to the board.
  • 8. Set RAID Level as RAID0(Stripe).
  • 9. To select two SATA storage devices then select "Create Volume".
  • 10. Switch to "Save & Exit" tab, save changed setting and reset.
