Greenhouse Gas Management

To accurately grasp greenhouse gas emissions generated by operational activities, Avalue has comprehensively promoted greenhouse gas inventory operations in accordance with the ISO 14064-1: 2018 standard, taking 2022 as the base year. The inventory covers Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (energy indirect emissions), and Scope 3 (other indirect emissions), with the inventory scope limited to Avalue’s Taiwan operations (Liancheng, Lide, and Taichung). In accordance with relevant regulations of the Financial Supervisory Commission, Avalue has also established a complete greenhouse gas inventory and verification schedule, which has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, and the execution progress is supervised quarterly by the Board.

In 2024, Avalue’s total greenhouse gas emissions were 3,581.6397 tons of CO2e, an increase of 221.9720 tons of CO2e compared to 2023, an increase of approximately 11%. The overall emission intensity also increased by 6.6%. However, among the various emission sources, Scope 2 (purchased electricity) emissions decreased by 65.2088 tons of CO2e compared to the previous year, a decrease of 7.04%, demonstrating that Avalue has demonstrated concrete results in energy conservation and electricity saving.

Carbon Emission Reduction initiatives

Adhering to its commitment to environmental sustainability, Avalue promotes a systematic greenhouse gas reduction strategy and formulates concrete action plans as follows:

1. Information Transparency: Implement a greenhouse gas inventory system and disclose relevant information in accordance with international regulations to enhance the transparency of sustainable management, allowing stakeholders to fully understand Avalue’s specific actions and achievements in carbon reduction.

2. Equipment Improvement: Continuously replace outdated equipment and introduce high-efficiency energy-saving equipment to optimize energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions during operations, while also improving overall production efficiency. For example, introducing high-efficiency air conditioning systems and LED lighting to the factory is estimated to reduce approximately 120 tons of CO2e emissions annually.

3. Innovative R&D: Actively develop low-carbon products, optimize product design to reduce energy consumption and extend product lifespan, balance environmental protection with product competitiveness, and implement a low-carbon transformation.

4. Circular Economy: Phase in recycled and low-carbon raw materials to mitigate the impact on the environment, promote effective resource circulation and reuse, and achieve a sustainable economic activity.

In addition, Avalue also reduces carbon emissions through strengthening production equipment management and energy management practices, and collaborates with supply chain partners to promote green transportation and increase the proportion of low-carbon raw materials used, striving to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the manufacturing process and achieve the goal of symbiosis between the company and the environment.
